Structural Reinforcement
This project involves the application of Shotcrete—high-velocity sprayed concrete—onto the existing Gabion retaining walls at Canacona and Loliem stations. This process seals the rock-filled baskets, creating a monolithic, durable surface that prevents the shifting of boulders and significantly increases the structural lifespan of the platform foundation.
Monsoon Preparedness
In the high-rainfall environment of South Goa, Gabion walls are susceptible to internal siltation and mesh corrosion over time. Shotcreting provides a waterproof, erosion-resistant shell that ensures the safety of the platform and tracks during heavy monsoon surges, maintaining the geotechnical integrity of the station premises.
