The essential task involves clearing vegetation that infringes upon the 25kV Overhead Equipment (OHE). This is critical to prevent electrical arcing (flashovers) which can cause sudden power failure, damage to locomotive pantographs, and severe operational delays.
Specifically targeting Station Yards, this maintenance ensures that high-density areas with complex track layouts remain safe from falling branches. Especially during the monsoon season in the Karwar region, this work is a prerequisite for maintaining 24/7 rail traffic stability.

The work involves using Retro-Reflective sheeting for LC (Level Crossing) Number Boards. This material reflects light back to the source (train headlights or road vehicles), ensuring that crucial identification numbers and safety symbols are clearly visible at night and during poor weather conditions.
Proper lettering and Vinyl Symbols on Number Boards are vital for loco-pilots and track inspectors to identify their exact location. This project, under the Sr.DEN/KWR (Senior Divisional Engineer, Karwar) jurisdiction, standardizes safety markings across the SEN/UD section.
This project focuses on the precise pasting of lettering and vinyl symbols using high-grade retro-reflective sheets. These sheets are engineered to reflect light from train engines and road vehicle headlamps, making Level Crossing (LC) number boards visible from significant distances in total darkness.
Operating within the SEN/MAO (Madgaon) section under the Senior Divisional Engineer (Karwar), this work ensures that all LC gates are identifiable for emergency response and routine inspection. Standardized signage helps prevent accidents by providing clear, unambiguous information to both railway staff and public commuters.
